The Stirk Medical Group is pleased to announce that Dr Laura Surmon will be working at the practice as a GP Registrar, undergoing her GP training.
Laura has demonstrated a career interest in the medical sciences, commencing with veterinary nursing and continuing on through a medical science degree, working as a scientist in reproductive technology and later achieving a doctoral degree in this area, preeclampsia research and on to medical education. Having amassed substantial research experience Laura turned her attention to a new career goal of becoming a General Practitioner, completing a Doctor of Medicine degree at the University of Wollongong in 2019, subsequently working in the NSW hospital system and more recently at SJOG Midland Public & Private Hospital.
Laura now joins us in 2022 as a GP Registrar, her young family having made the Perth Hills their new home. Outside of work, Laura can often be found spending time exploring the outdoors with her 3 children, enjoying the local food and wine or running up the Zig Zag!
