Stirk Medical Group:History

History

KALAMUNDA

The building at 8 Canning Road is a custom build Medical Centre and was initially constructed in 1974. A two storey addition was completed in 1992. In 2010 an exstensive renovation of the building was undertaken, this has seen the Pathology Collection Centre (St John of God Pathology) be relocated to the front of the building and also extended to allow a second room for the collection of pathology samples. The main building has also been extensively renovated and modernised.

HIGH WYCOMBE NEWBURN ROAD SURGERY

The Building at 32 Newburn road was originally constructed as a doctor's residence and surgery in 1965 and there have been subsequent alterations and additions that have brought the buildings to the standard of a custom built Medical Centre. Dr Howard Watts originally lived and worked out of the building in High Wycombe.

HIGH WYCOMBE EDNEY ROAD SURGERY

Stirk acquired another surgery in November 2010, following the closure of Minerva Medical. This is a purpose built medical centre and required very little work to expand to an additional 4 consulting room surgery. As with the surgery in Newburn Road, this fully computerised surgery is connected to our main surgery in Kalamunda, via a Broadband connection. This means that patient files from the practice, can be accessed by Doctors at the practice, from any location. This in turn means that patients can be seen without any interference with their care, regardless of the surgery that the patient attends at the Stirk Medical Group.
